Weight Loss Challenge

Lose to Win

We had 44 participants total for the United Health Care Lose to Win program that was led by a volunteer committee. The first place winner(s) would receive $420, and the second would receive $240.

The program consisted of weighing in and out, attending in-services, a curriculum that was available on line for participants, periodicals emails for support and educational purposes, raffles during in-services and a post celebration in conjunction with Mission Day events.

As a whole the total weight of the 44 participants in 8,843 pounds
We had 14 partner groups and 16 individuals
33 are NCR staff
2 are InCare hospice volunteers
9 are guests (friends/family) of the NCR staff

23 of the 44 participants weighed out for the Lose to Win program. The total pounds lost for the group was 221 pounds, so we beat our team goal of 202 pounds! (One side goal of the challenge is for the Lose and Win participants to lose 202 lbs in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the HUD 202 program which has been one of the building blocks to NCR's leadership in the affordable housing industry. NCR was just approved for five 202 grants in the last year to begin construction on the housing for the elderly. We are very excited about our partnership with HUD, so we can continue our Mission to provide quality housing and care at affordable prices.)

The winner(s) are:

1st place with a 12.23% of weight loss- Gay Meads (InCare Hospice Social Worker) and partner Shawn Meads

2nd place with a 8.16% of weight loss- Tom Householder (NCR System Administrator)
